Psalm 63

Worship from the Inside Out

Worship is an expression of adoration from the inside out.  David demonstrates three expressions of inside-out worship: (1) The soul that thirsts for God, bursts for God (63:1-4); (2) The soul that rests in God, blesses God (63:5-7); (3) The soul that clings to God, sings to God (63:8-11)

Security in Christ

People desire security but try to derive it from the wrong places.  Seek your security in Christ.  How can this be done?  (1) Don't have false security about how you got saved (4:9-12); (2) Don't have false security about how you stay saved (4:13-15); (3) Let your security rest in the power of God (4:16-17)

Secure Your Righteousness

This text calls you to secure our righteousness in Jesus Christ and to forsake your own.  To do this, Paul argues that: (1) You must not rely on your works (4:1-2, 4, 6); (2) You must rely on Christ's work; (4:3, 5-8); (3) You must look to Christ in faith (4:3-5).

Seeing God's Promise Through Your Pain

God gave us a promise that we must confidently cling to in the mist of our troubles.  Why?  (1) We live in a sin-stained world under a God who confronts sinners (3:8-13); (2) God sees all of your sins and judges them, but does so graciously (3:16-19); (3) God has extended a gracious promise to His children (3:14-15); (4) God points us to His promise in tangible ways (3:20-21).

Christ's Words; Christ's Way
